Jerez (with its Lovely Sherry and Tapas!) via Spitalfields
Jerez Discovery Bar

Sherry. It’s not just for Nan at Christmas. It’s for anybody hankering some fine wine to go with the right tasty morsels. Today, tomorrow and Friday offer a superb opportunity to sample a few of Jerez’s best (thanks to the Sherry Institute of Spain) along with yummy tapas (inspired by Fat Duck owner, Heston Blumenthal) at the Jerez Discovery Bar at Bishops Square near Spitalfields Market. If you’ve ever wondered which sherry goes best with, say, poached chicken with Serrano ham stuffed with walnut and pecorino pesto … or … how to add a bit of twist to a glass of cream sherry, the Discovery Bar is just the spot for you to indulge a little and learn a lot (or visa versa).

Located under the sail at the west end of Spitalfields Market, until 10pm tonight, 12pm-10pm tomorrow and 12pm-9pm on Friday, the Jerez Discovery Bar brings a little Andalucían sunshine our way – just in time too!

Prices are reasonable at this open air (but sheltered from the damn rain) bar. Pop in for a quick sip ‘n’ nibble or set aside some time for a proper fino tasting session.
