Being homeless is no joke. Particularly at Christmas when we're all treating ourselves, getting pissed up on school nights and splashing our cash about. If your Mum booked your attendance at family celebrations back in June or you've some ultra relaxing down time planned while the office is shut, then you probably won't be able to volunteer for helping out with Crisis Christmas between 23-30 December but you could help in a more straightforwardly entertaining way by buying a ticket to the Crisis Comedy Cracker Gala at Pleasance Islington on 12 December.

The line up is right up our street with favourites Pappy's Fun Club (pictured) and Idiots of Ants and you can also catch Tom Basden, Pippa Evans, Tim Key, Fat Tongue and Benny Boot. You are advised to dress 'Christmas' and urged to buy raffle tickets, drink mulled wine, eat mince pies and generally have a stupid funny Christmas party with top notch comedy entertainment on tap.

All acts are donating their time for free, and local businesses and services have donated prizes for the raffle. This is a good gig for a great cause. Tickets are £12 from Pleasance box office on 020 7609 1800 and the fun starts at 7.30pm. With jingle bells on.
