The British Library's perhaps not the first place you'd think of to get a dose of chuckles, but this week it hosts two thoughtful and bellylaughtersome events. Andy Zaltzman moves Political Animal from Radio 4, losing John Oliver in the process (we guess he's busy in the US with The Daily Show) but gaining Chris Addison, Stewart Lee and A Ant. If you want incisive commentary on what's shaping up to be the most exciting General Election in years, we cannot think of a better team. In fact, this correspondent - still volcano-stranded in the Middle East - is considering mounting an epic overland journey just to be there.

Richard Herring is also on hand to remind us that the election's not just about Cleggmania. His campaign against right-wing extremism continues with a screening of Charlie Chaplin's classic film The Great Dictator. Herring - who's been touring his Hitler Moustache show around the country - will introduce.

Political Animal, Wednesday 28th April 6.30pm, £7.50 / £5 / The Great Dictator, Friday 30th April 6.30pm, £6 / £4.
