Comedy Preview: Robin Ince's Book Club

Ince_Bookclub.jpg Robin Ince's Book Club used to be a staple of the comedy circuit - Ince would read from whatever awful volume he'd picked up that month, and other comedians had the freedom to do things they might not get away with in a full set. He's since moved on to the similarly eclectic, but more rational and sciencey, School for Gifted Children but the Book Club is back - back! - for one night only at the Bloomsbury Theatre.

Admittedly, it's a tie-in with a book based on the original concept of mediocre tomes read and discussed so you don't have to, but it's still a good excuse to revive the Book Club (it generally pops up at Latitude, but that's not exactly local). Readings, musical interludes and who-knows-what-else come from Phill Jupitus, Joanna Neary, Josie Long, Martin White, Arnold Brown, Toby Hadoke and Peter Buckley Hill. This will be a brilliant night - book now or regret it at leisure.

Robin Ince's Book Club is at the Bloomsbury Theatre on 14th July, 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15.
