Hand-Drawn Maps: Submit Entries Now For Chance Of Exhibition

Map of Anglo Saxon London, under constructionOver the past year, we've been cajoling you to send in hand-drawn maps of London, or neighbourhoods thereof. We've had an excellent response. So much so, that the Museum of London have agreed to put on an exhibition of the best ones from April next year till some time in late summer or autumn. Better yet, we've got the gallery wall in the entrance foyer, so the maps will be seen by just about every visitor to the museum. And you can be part of it.

We now have a deadline for submissions. If you'd like to be considered for inclusion in the exhibition, you need to send a scan or photo of your map to [email protected] by 17 January (preferably much sooner), and we'd then need the paper copy by 24 January.

The only rules are that the map must show an area of London and be predominantly if not entirely hand-drawn. Beyond that, you can make it witty, surreal, artistic, newsworthy, scruffy...wherever your imagination takes you. Check out our archives for some inspiration.

Not all submissions can make it into the exhibition, but we will publish anything that's reasonably good on Londonist. Get drawing!
