- London Transport Museum's Acton Depot is open for visitors on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are valid for both days and cost £10 for adults, kids free.
- Meet the Tawny Owls of Kensington Gardens! Royal Parks and RSPB staff will be on hand with telescopes and information about the latest family to take up residence in Kensington between 11am and 5pm, Saturday and Sunday.
- Massive dance exhibition Move It is at Olympia with lots of demonstrations, masterclasses and people keen to sell you all the dance gear you'll ever need. Adult day ticket £12, kids £9. Family passes available.
- The Affordable Art Fair is in Battersea Park until Sunday. Tickets £10 adv or £12 for the weekend. Go and see the new Winter Garden while you're there.
- The Bird's Eye View Film Festival runs until 17 March.
- A weekend pass is £30 for free run of the Women of the World Festival Conference at Southbank Centre. It was International Women's Day this week.
- The Ideal Home Show starts this weekend at Earl's Court and runs till 27 March. Standard tickets from £11, evening tickets £5.
- Pan-Asia Film Festival finishes on Sunday
Friday:
- Spring Cabaret at Greenwich Dance Agency means contemporary performance on the same bill as hip hop, acrobatics and old time fiddling. 7.30pm, £15 adv or turn up and haggle for a table on the night.
- Lost Theatre, Wandsworth hosts a musical evening of dark synth sounds with Nessus Red + The Unkindness Of Ravens + Ventenner. 7.30pm, £6/4.
Saturday:
- The London Comic and Small Press Expo takes place at Goldsmiths University, New Cross. Entry £2.
- The annual Tibet Freedom March starts at 11.30am from Tothill Street, Westminster to the Chinese Embassy on Portland Place and will be followed by an afternoon celebrating Tibetan culture in Westminster Cathedral Hall, SW1.
- Zoom In Photography School has an open day with a free drop in pinhole photography workshop and Camera Obscura, plus exhibition and information about courses. 12-6pm, in Kennington SW9 6DE.
- It's Family Day at the Big Bang Fair for young scientists and engineers at ExCel.
- Party in a Laundrette with Safari Funk, Bethnal Green. 10pm, £4, BYOB. Yes, because it really is in a laundrette.
Sunday:
- St Patrick's Day isn't till Thursday but it's all Irish with a parade and party in Trafalgar Square today from midday.
- Cornershop will be premiering its new album at Dishoom, Covent Garden between 3pm and 5pm. It's not a live performance but the band will be there and its Dishoom's first 'Sunday Listening Booth'.
