Our choice of where to find funny this week.
Sunday: Josh Widdicombe (pick of the week in today's Guardian Guide) MCs at Greenwich's Up The Creek, with Ivo Graham and Andrew Lawrence. It's a 7.30pm start, tickets £6 / £4.
Monday: The Comedy Project at the Soho Theatre gives you a chance to see new work from established writers. Tonight: Talk to the Handcuff! by Jane Lamacraft and Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After by Rosalind Adler. Starts 8pm, tickets a tenner.
Tuesday: New York comedian Lewis Schaffer is performing free gigs at The Source Below (off Brewer Street) on Tuesday and Wednesday. Probably best to reserve a place though. Doors open at 7pm.
Wednesday: We're a sucker for a secret, so we're intrigued by the "secret celebrity" appearing at Comedy Gold @ The Old Queens Head. If you prefer your line-ups more defined, Holly Walsh, Carey Marx and Chris Martin are also on the bill. Doors from 7pm, show starts 8pm, tickets £7.50.
Fans of politics and cake should get themselves down to the Camden Head for 8.30pm - Chris Coltrane hosts LOLITICS, a night of new ideas and topical experimentation from Andy Zaltzman, Josie Long, Paul Sinha and Broderick Chow. And the aforementioned cake. Tickets a mere fiver.
Thursday: Spoonfed Live at the Crack Comedy Club Islington (AKA the Slug and Lettuce) showcases Paul Sinha, Hal Cruttenden, Nick Helm and Steve N Allen. Get there 8 for 8.30pm, tickets £8 / £7 mailing list / £4 NUS.
Friday: Colin Hoult (have we mentioned how much we love him?) hosts some new adventures at Leicester Square Theatre, in the company of Isy Suttie, Thom Tuck and David Reed. 8pm start, tickets from £10.
Saturday: The utterly brilliant Karaoke Circus is putting on a tsunami relief gig at Leicester Square Theatre (8pm, £10). Backed by a live band, comedians confirmed to sing their lungs out include Tim Vine, Lucy Porter, Hattie Hayridge, Laurence and Gus, Thom Tuck and Tony Gardner.
Book ahead: Find out what it's like walking the Israeli Separation Barrier from the mouth of Mark Thomas, at the Tricycle Theatre 3rd-28th May. Tickets are £15 or £18 on Fridays and Saturdays.
