Maps: An East London Companion

Herb Lester Associates might sound like a swanky law firm, but they're actually the purveyors of artful and useful home-made maps. Their latest release is a litho-printed guide to East London, stretching from Kingsland Road to Stratford.

According to the company's Ben Olins:

I think we've come up with some interesting places, some of which will be unfamiliar even to locals. Boi Gordo, Casa Mexico and Mama Vic's are all real finds, and while Labour And Wait, Present and Pizza East may be well known, they're deserving of a mention.

The guide lists around 100 must-visit venues in E postcodes, reached via ox-blood roads that pass mustard yellow parks and open spaces. It's got a big Eine-style 'E' on the front, and everything.

An East London Companion is available now from Herb Lester for £4 plus postage. Have a browse around while you're there. This is just the latest in a line of cartographic dazzlers from this small company.
