Things To Do In London At The Weekend: 1-3 April

The weekend post is sponsored by Walk London

All weekend

Friday:

  • Chelsea Physic Garden opens today!
  • The ICA pay tribute to Leigh Bowery on what would have been his 50th birthday with Sunshine Night Time with live performances from Scottee, Ryan Styles, Fancy Chance, Johnny Woo, Feral AKA MC Kinky, choreographer Les Child, Richard Torry from Minty plus 80s club superstars The Trindies. 9pm in the theatre, £15.

Saturday:

(Mothering) Sunday:

  • Get up early and take part (with your Mum) in the Great Kingston Charity Bike Ride: You, a bike, a map and a 15 mile challenge! Starts at 8.30am. £10 entry for adults, raising money for the Mayor's charity.
  • Visit Chatsworth Road Market, E5. Currently a fortnightly affair, they're pushing for it to become a weekly market so they need your (and your Mum's) shopping patronage. Open 11am-5pm. They're also looking for new volunteer committee members from the local community.
  • Do you (and your Mum) grow your own? It's rhubarb day at the Garden Museum, Lambeth.
  • Witness the first 3D ballet (with your Mum) with a screening of Giselle at Piccadilly Apollo at 2.30pm. Tickets £18.50 plus a quid for the glasses.
  • The original and the best 'Strictly' for you (and your Mum) Nomad Cinema screens Strictly Ballroom at Zippo's Circus, Finsbury Park. Doors 7pm, starts 7.30pm. Tickets £12.50.

Other good stuff:

You can also browse all latest arts and events features and salivate over our latest food and drink content for gastronomic inspiration.

Thinking ahead: Do you or any of your acquaintance look like David Hasselhoff? The Bavarian Beerhouse at Tower Hill is looking for lookalikes or those who embody the spirit of the Hoff (looking for freedom?) for next weekend's Hassle the Hoff parties, taking place on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 April from 8pm. Admission is free.
