Our choice of where to find funny this week
Sunday: Tom Bell's honing his new Edinburgh show at the Pleasance. Ever wanted to know the backstory to Tom Bell? Much like Batman, Superman and the X-Men, the comedian's getting a reboot (8pm, £5).
Monday: It's standing room only for what looks like being Richard Herring's last ever As It Occurs To Me at Leicester Square Theatre. This is a little piece of comedy history ending - book now, don't wait for the podcast (8pm, £14 / £12.50). If you miss out, you could always head downstairs and catch Simon Munnery and Edward Aczel (8pm, £8).
Tuesday: We like Bright Club. This month the collection of funny folk from UCL and guests tackle science and the media - a nice juicy topic. Helen Keen MCs, and be sure to catch Strawberry and Cream and their brilliantly filthy songs (Wilmington Arms, 8pm, £5).
Wednesday: The excellent Andi Osho headlines at the Map Studio Cafe in Kentish Town, alongside Henry Ginsberg and Catie Wilkins (8pm, £10).
Thursday: Ed Gamble and Ray Peacock take their podcast out of the internet and into Kings Place, preparing for their Emergency Broadcast shows at Edinburgh (8pm, £9.50). The Guardian managed to turn "wildly self-indulgent" into a compliment last week, a fact they're very much enjoying in the latest podcast.
Friday: Rich Hall plays the Bearcat Comedy Club in Twickenham tonight for the princely sum of £15 (8pm).
Saturday: Reginald D. Hunter takes over the Hammersmith Apollo (and also on Friday). As we pointed out last year, if your only experience of him is on friendly panel shows you are about to have a hell of a shock. In a good way (6.30pm, £20).
