The weekend post is brought to you in partnership with MyDestination.com

All weekend

Friday:
We got a bit stuck for Friday night activities this week so we asked our Facebook friends:

Saturday:

  • They're changing the guard at Buckingham Palace! Actually they're Trooping the Colour for the Queen's birthday. You'll be able to peer at it from the Mall. Starts 10am, fly past at 1pm.
  • The Queens Park Book Festival looks like one full day of literary amazingness. Tickets just a fiver.
  • Crawl and stitch with Stitch London on Worldwide Knit In Public Day and International Yarnbombing Day. Free to join, just bring your knit kit bag and meet at the bandstand in St James' Park at 12.30pm.
  • Hatton Garden Festival lures you to the jewellery quarter between 11am-5pm as part of London Jewellery Week. As well as demonstrations and have a go activities, there will be a world record attempt to make as many silver rings as possible, all to be sold at £40 a pop in aid of the NSPCC.
  • Mayton Street Festival is part of Holloway Arts Festival and brings a free afternoon of poetry, singing, craft, theatre and a pop up cafe to the Old Fire Station Community Centre, Mayton Street N7 between 1-5pm. Dare you enter the bake off?
  • Ravers! It's LED Festival in Victoria Park.

Sunday:

  • Join the colourful Rathaytra Festival of Chariots on its procession from Hyde Park around midday to Trafalgar Square with a free party in the Square till 5pm.
  • The Sex Worker Film Festival attempts to throw stereotypes back at the film industry at the Dalston Rio this afternoon from 1pm. Tickets £9.
  • Do the London Circle Walk
  • Stratford Circus Theatre Square hosts the multi-arts Windrush Festival live music, theatre, photography, short films and arts & crafts, celebrating the culture, music and influence of Caribbean and African migrants to the UK. Tickets are £7, 2-6pm. Call 020 8279 1001 for more info.
