London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 7-13 August

Our pick of where to find funny this week

Sunday: The comedy line-up for the Apple Cart Festival in Victoria Park is pretty amazing: Tim Minchin, Abandoman, Doc Brown, Jon Richardson, Kevin Eldon, Marcus Brigstocke, Mark Steel, Paul Chowdhry, Simon Evans, Steve Hughes and Tom Deacon. Sod Badly Drawn Boy and Saint Etienne, this is the stage to be at (doors open 11am, walk-up tickets £35).

Monday: Over at the Camden Fringe (one of the few places to see comedy at the moment, since everybody's buggered off to Edinburgh), James Mullinger's back to see if he can carry on selling out his shows. Got a bit of a good reputation, this chap (Roundhouse Studio, 9pm, £7.50).

Tuesday: Aussie comedian and skeptic Lawrence Leung is at the Soho Theatre til the end of the week, wondering where the hell is his jetpack (7.45pm, £15 / £12.50).

Wednesday: Thought normal daytime TV was bad? Try watching Anna Morris and Beth Vyse's 2010 Edinburgh show, Daylords. They're about to take the next incarnation back to Scotland so catch the original at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern while you can (8.30pm, £7).

Thursday: We can, and have, and will, heartily recommend Adrian Poynton and he's back at the Camden Fringe for three nights only, taking a break from writing series two of White Van Man (Camden Head, 8pm, £7.50 / £6).

Friday: Still in Camden, Alys Torrance - currently without usual partner Judith Faultless - describes the year she spent living as a squirrel (Etcetera Theatre, 6pm, £8.50 / £6.50).

Saturday: Jack Whitehall's final preview before going to Edinburgh is at the rather intimate Hen and Chickens (7pm, £7). He comes in for a lot of stick, so where better to make your own judgement than from about ten feet away?
