London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy 4-10 December

Where to find funny next week

Sunday: An Event Of Some Kind at Camden's Black Heart has a fantastically offbeat line-up. You've got sketch group Jigsaw (in their constituent parts: Dan Antopolski, Nat Luurtesma, and Tom Craine), Tom Webb, Bridget Christie, John-Luke Roberts, Chris Coltrane and Tiernan Douieb. H Anthony Hildebrand holds it all together (7pm, £7).

Monday: Every time we've seen Phil Nichol he's got his arse out. We're not sure how that experience will play in a small room above a pub, but it's something everyone should experience at least once. Not to be outdone (possibly in the arse department, possibly not) Bec Hill is the other half of this double bill at The Miller, by London Bridge (8pm, £5 / £3).

Tuesday: Get in fast to snap up the remaining tickets to Joe Wilkinson (you know, the weird neighbour from Him & Her) at the Bloomsbury Theatre (8pm, £12.50). If you're too slow, try Richard Sandling's Perfect Movie night at the Ritzy Picturehouse with Brett Goldstein, Paul Gannon, Alex Kirk, and Gareth Tunley (8.30pm, £8 / £6).

Wednesday: Jerry Sadowitz has a new run at the Leicester Square Theatre until the 17th. Have your tiny mind blown. Possibly literally (10pm, £19.50).

Thursday: At the Pleasance, Humphrey Ker might have won Best Newcomer in Edinburgh for his Nazi Smasher show (which is playing Tuesday and Wednesday) but we're more interested in seeing what he does next. Check out his Family Variety Half-Hour (Runtime One Hour) at 7.30pm, with guests Pappy's and Dave McNeil (£7).

Friday: Holly Walsh, Otiz Cannelloni and Jonathan Elston are at Crack Comedy on the Southbank, plus plaintive country comedy from Loretta Maine (8pm, £10 / £6).

Saturday: Part of the Economist Books of the Year strand - no, wait, come back - are two shows at the Southbank Centre. Francesca Martinez, Andy Zaltzman and Jeremy Hardy are Seriously Funny on topics other comedians won't touch (5.45pm) while later at 9.15pm, a series of satirists, comedians and writers give us their history of the world in 15 minutes. Both are free.
