Talk: London's Alleyways And Passages @ London Transport Museum

Passing Alley and its hilariously altered sign.

There are few better ways to connect with London's history than to wander through the alleyways and courtyards of the City. You'll discover tiny museums (Johnson's House), atmospheric pubs (Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese) and evocative place names (Hanging Sword Alley)...and that's just the area around Fleet Street.

Join Londonist Editor Matt Brown and city chronicler David Long at London Transport Museum on 17 January for a discussion about London's many alleyways: from their history to their future, and as an alternative means of navigating the city. David's recent book Hidden City: The Secret Alleys, Courts and Yards of London’s Square Mile offers a detailed account of these interstitial spaces, while we previously charted the same territory in the long-running (and slightly ruder-sounding) Londonist's Back Passage.

Only a few spaces are left, so book now.

Navigating Hidden London is at London Transport Museum on 17 January, 6.30-8pm. Tickets are £8/£6/
