Mix up Secret Cinema with TED Talks and you'd get something like the Lost Lectures — a regular event featuring quickfire talks from interesting people in a secret location.
The next events are set for 21 and 22 March, at a location only disclosed to ticket holders. The list of speakers sparkles:
21 March
- Prof. Anthony Dickenson: expert on pain and mind-altering substances
- Mark Forsyth: Author of The Etymologicon, and the man behind these ingenious photos
- Simon Singh: Well known author of popular science books, and champion of libel law reform
- Andrew Shoben: Creator of art in public places, including the recent sun installation in Trafalgar Square
- Kerstin Rodgers: Perhaps better known as @msmarmitelover, Kerstin was a pioneer of the underground restaurant movement
- Robin Norton-Hale: who brings opera to small, intimate venues with OperaUpClose
22 March
- Guido Fawkes (aka Paul Staines): probably the UK's best-known political blogger
- Luke Jerram: the artist behind last year's Sky Orchestra balloon spectacle and the glass viruses of 2009
- Shaun Usher: Blogger behind Letters of Note, which collects together unusual and interesting correspondence
- Steve Wheen: Guerilla gardener
- Dr Cath Mercer: A leading sex statistician who runs the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles
- Shitfaced Shakespeare with Cpt. Chris Snelson: Shakespeare by drunk people
