SKATE: Find a seasonal skating rink here.

THEATRE: Take in a seasonal show before it's too late.

TRANSPORT: Show London Transport Museum some love by visiting this weekend. We just heard their funding is under threat. Admission £13.50 for adults (going up to £15 as of 1 January) — which allows you unlimited return visits within a year — kids go free. It's open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-6pm.

FILM: Watch Casablanca and It's A Wonderful Life at the Prince Charles Cinema as part of their classic film season.

WINTER WONDERLAND: is still going in Hyde Park. It's unbelievably popular this year. Make sure you check out Ice Kingdom (pictured). Free entry, open 11am-11pm.

Saturday 29 December

SING: St Martin in the Fields invites you to rehearse and perform some of the World's Great Christmas Choruses, including a bit of Handel's Messiah. Pick a soprano, alto, tenor or bass ticket for £10 and be there for 10.15am.

PHOTOS: Visit The Photography Fair in the Underground Gallery in Exit 9 of Charing Cross Underground Station, free, just turn up. Open between 11am-5.30pm.

MUSIC: The Voodoo Love Orchestra invade the foyer spaces at the Southbank Centre with a "euphoric riot of musicians". Free, just turn up from 6pm.

LASERS: IanVisits has got wind of a laser light show in Southwark... possibly to do with the Shard. Eyes to the skies some time between 8-11pm.

Sunday 30 December

BALLET: Watch Mariinsky Theatre’s The Nutcracker In 3D. Tickets £15.75 for adults +bf at the Curzon Chelsea (starts 12noon) and £14+bf at Curzon Wimbledon (starts 2pm).

OH VIENNA: Listen to the London Salon Ensemble play Viennese favourites in the foyers of the Southbank Centre. Free, just turn up for 1pm.

PING PONG: Whether hobbyist or pro, you can get some free training and play in a ping pong tournament at Blueberry on Paul Street, Shoreditch with Worship Pong Sunday. Free, just turn up from 2-7pm.

SCANDAL: Ivy Paige promises a bawdy night at Leicester Square Theatre as she welcomes you to her Scandalous House of “Whorecraft”. Expect to be treated like a customer. Tickets £20, prebook or turn up for curtain up at 7.30pm.

PARTY: Buttoned Down Disco throw their annual, F*ck New Year's Eve party at Koko in Camden. It's invite only but if you haven't already got a BDD badge you can sign up for an invitation on their website and it's free entry before 10pm.
