Ticket Alert: Comedy Shows For 2013

Instead of our usual weekly comedy picks, we thought we'd give you a heads up of some of the bigger comedy shows happening next year. Book your seats for:

Eddie Izzard @ Wembley Arena and O2
Our tip for Mayoral candidate in 2020, Eddie Izzard is coming to Wembley Arena on 11 and 12 May (tickets £44.75) and the O2 on 8 and 9 June (tickets £46.25). Azerbaijan. Covered in bees! Death Star canteen. You know the score.

Chris Addison @ Southbank Centre
There are a handful of tickets left to see The Thick Of It comedian at the Southbank Centre on 4 February (tickets £20 + bf). It's his The Time is Now, Again tour that was on the road over the last year so this will be one of its last outings.

Sarah Silverman @ Bloomsbury Theatre
The sardonic American's first London date for four years is in Bloomsbury on 9 February. Tickets are only available via Ticketmaster and Live Nation (£25 + bf) because they're doing something whizzy with paperless ticketing to try to confound touts.

Harry Hill @ Hammersmith Apollo
TV Burp is no more so you'll just have to get a dose of surrealism in person. Harry Hill's doing two dates in Hammersmith: 26 March and 11 April (tickets £30 + bf).

Jack Dee @ Hammersmith Apollo
Also pitching up in West London is Jack Dee, back in live venues for the first time in six years. This Hammersmith Apollo show will be recorded for DVD release so you might catch yourself on screen at some future point (tickets £25 + bf).

Festival of the Spoken Nerd @ Bloomsbury Theatre
We love the big FOTSN shows and they certainly live up to the larger auditorium (remember all that fire?). Join Helen Arney, Matt Parker and Steve Mould 21-22 January (tickets £14 / £12).

Doctor Brown and Daniel Simonsen @ Soho Theatre
Doctor Brown's Edinburgh winning Befrdfgth show completely sold out earlier in the year, so there's another massive run at the Soho Theatre 25 March-20 April (tickets £12.50-£20). Norwegian Daniel Simonsen won the Best Newcomer at Edinburgh: find out why at the Soho Theatre 29 January-2 February (tickets £12.50 / £10).

Sarah Millican @ Hammersmith Apollo
Sarah Millican's brand new tour hits London for just two dates: 8 and 9 November (tickets £25 + bf). That's pretty late in the year so we have no idea of theme or content, but it's a safe bet it'll be smart, gynaecological and hilarious.

David Baddiel and Robert Newman: works in progress
No, the former partners aren't back together, we just found it amusing to lump both their try-out shows into one section. Catch David Baddiel doing new material at the Soho Theatre 11-16 February and 18-23 March (tickets £12) and Rob Newman in Chiswick, Windsor and the Pleasance in January.

Miranda Hart @ O2
Very, very advance notice for this one – it's happening on 12 March 2014. If you feel the need to book that far ahead, tickets for the O2 are £27.50 + bf.
