Bon Jovi To Headline New Hyde Park Festival

Bon Jovi Headline Hyde Park Tickets

American mega rock-gods Bon Jovi will headline Hyde Park this summer for a brand new festival, the Barclaycard British Summer Time.

They are the first headliner of the 10-day extravaganza which marks a complete overhaul of music on the Royal Park.

Concert promoter AEG, the chaps who run the O2 arena, won the contract to host events in Hyde Park and are spending £5 million on a festival village, with proper grub and real toilets, so they claim.

The Bon Jovi show takes place on 5 July, with other headliners playing over the weekends of 28-30 June and 5-7 July.

The site will be open to the public during the week with an outdoor cinema, theatre, fringe events and, er, a farmers' market in zoned “film set”-like areas, which certainly sound better than waiting for Deadmu5 with a burger in the rain.

The Wireless and Hard Rock Calling festivals, run by promoters Live Nation, have moved from Hyde Park to the Olympic Park and Stadium.

Tickets for Bon Jovi at Hyde Park go on sale 9am Friday 1 February through www.bstlondon.com
