London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 20-26 January

Where to find funny this week

Sunday 20 January: Max and Ivan's Roffle Club is always a good bet for the best in sketch: tonight see Nick Helm, Colin Hoult, The Three Englishmen, The Pin and Jay Foreman at Leicester Square Theatre (8.30pm, £8 / £6).

Monday 21 January: Chat Show Roulette is an improvised, er, chat show at the Hen and Chickens, with Justin Edwards as your host. Guests tonight are Matt Lucas, Cariad Lloyd, Mike Wozniak and Alex Lowe (alter ego of Barry from Watford) with James Sherwood as the house "band". It's also on tomorrow but tickets are nearly all gone for that (7.30pm, £8).

Tuesday 22 January: Head to Shepherds Bush for Laugh Ginglik and chortle at Edinburgh nominee Tony Law, one-third of Jigsaw Nat Luurtsema, James Acaster, Amir Khoshsokhan and MC John Robbins (8.30pm, £8).

Wednesday 23 January: Alexei Sayle (pictured) is working on his first new solo show in more than 16 years. See how far he's got (and help him develop it) at the Soho Theatre until 9 February (7.30pm, £12.50-£20).

Thursday 24 January: David Morgan has great hair and an even greater sardonic manner (see the video below of him appraising some of last year's Eurovision entries for evidence). He's doing his show Pretty at the Hen and Chickens tonight and tomorrow (7.30pm, £7.50).

Friday 25 January: There's a new improv night in town hosted by one of the best in the business, Pippa Evans. Get to Crack Comedy in Wimbledon – anything could happen (8pm, £10 / £6).

Saturday 26 January: Sketch group Delete the Banjax are splitting up, but before they go you can see them one last time at the Pleasance (7.30pm, £8). Also appearing are Colin Hoult and Lady Garden.
