London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 27 January-2 February

Where to find funny this week

Sunday 27 January: If you like your comedy space themed, come to Helen Keen and Londonist's Spacetacular (pictured) at Leicester Square Theatre – there are a handful of tickets left (7.30pm, £10 / £7).

Monday 28 January: There appear to be tickets available to Simon Amstell's work in progress show at the Invisible Dot. The other dates are sold out and we can't imagine there are many left (7.45pm, £8). If you're too slow, try Not Now, Bernard, a comedy club where the theme is children's books, with The Beta Males, Catie Wilkins, Helen Arney, Bec Hill and more (7pm, £5).

Tuesday 29 January: David Trent does his YouTube-powered Edinburgh show at the Soho Theatre (8.45pm, £10).

Wednesday 30 January: Matt Thomas has settled the religion vs science debate and will tell you all about it at the Canal Cafe Theatre during his show The Human Being's Guide to Not Being a Dick About Religion (7.30pm, £5 / £4, also Tuesday).

Thursday 31 January: There's sketches galore at the Pleasance for Sketchtacular, in support of Kidney Research UK. The Boy With Tape on his Face, Abandoman, Clever Peter, Cariad Lloyd, Idiots of Ants and McNeil and Pamphilon complete the brilliant line-up (8pm, £12).

Friday 1 February: See James Acaster's Edinburgh-nominated show Prompt and appreciate the structure: repetition, callbacks and a dash of whimsy. On at the Soho Theatre Thu-Sat (9.15pm, £10-£15).

Saturday 2 February: Deranged Country and Western singer Loretta Maine (the creation of Pippa Evans) headlines Amused Moose in Soho, along with Ian Moore, Romesh Ranganathan and Mark Simmons. Mark Dolan hosts (8pm, £12).

Book ahead: Louis CK's first show at Hammersmith Apollo has sold out so buy now for a late gig on 21 March (9.30pm, £35), or at the O2 on 20 March (6.30pm, £35).
