BOOK FEST: Jewish Book Week begins at Kings Place. The full programme is here - some ticketed events have already sold out but you can drop in to browse the booksellers on Saturday and stop by the Live Literary Lounge on Sunday from noon.

BEER FEST: The Bricklayer's Arms in Putney shares Yorkshire's finest beers, ciders and perries with London.

FILM FEST: London themed films, shorts and new talent all feature in the Reel Islington Film Festival which starts on Friday and runs till SundaY at various venues across north London. All tickets cost £5 or less, check the website for the full programme.

ANOTHER FILM FEST: The 18th London Turkish Film Festival begins today - Thursday - and runs through the weekend and on to 3 March looking back at the cinematic achievements of 2012 and previewing new film for this year. Screenings at Odeon West End, ICA, Rio Dalston and Cine Lumiere. Check the website for full programme, times and venues.

KIDS FEST: It's the final weekend of the Imagine Children's Festival at Southbank Centre with free booky events in the foyer spaces all Saturday and arts and crafts workshops on Sunday.

FASHION FEST: London Fashion Weekend is designer shopping heaven for the determined bargain shopper (pictured). It's on until Sunday - tickets available from £16.50+bf for timed sessions. Check the website for more info.

ANCESTRY FEST: Who Do You Think You Are? Live is at Olympia from Friday for a weekend of family history. Tickets from £15 advance, £22 on the door. Check the website for more information and opening times.

Saturday 23 February

HARINGEY: Find out about Haringey’s history with local experts and guest speakers at Haringey Local History Fair at Bruce Castle Museum. Free, just turn up, from 11am-4.40pm.

ELEVENSES: John Hegley and guests pause for a spot of Elevenses at the Poetry Cafe. Tickets £6, £5 concessions, just turn up, starts 11am.

TRANSPORT: Go behind the scenes of London Transport Museum with a tour round its Acton depot. Tickets adults £12, concession £10, prebook, tours at 11am and 2pm.

CRAFT BEER: The Old Truman Brewery hosts Craft Beer Rising, offering beer, music and street food. Saturday afternoon ticket is £10+bf, evening ticket £12+bf, prebook open 11.30am-4.30pm, then 5pm-11pm.

VINYL: The very first Brixton Record Fair takes place at the Canterbury Arms. Independent labels will be selling their wares, and individuals will be selling second hand records. It's free entry, just turn up between 12-5pm.

TREASURE HUNT: Take part in the Cyber Candy treasure hunt round Boxpark and be rewarded with sweets! Free, just turn up, 12-6pm.

LAST CHANCE to visit the Marshmallow Apothecary in Kingly Court and be prescribed some sweet and savoury light as air treats to remedy your ailments.

GRAMOPHONE: Be transported back to the sounds of the 20s and 30s with Radio Days Time Machine and hear live songs sang to digitally restored recordings, together with heritage guru Dr Chris Hutchison exploring music and anecdotes, illustrated with old photographs and other memorabilia at the Tea Box in Richmond. Tickets £5 advance, £6 on the night, turn up 7.30pm for 8pm.

COMEDY: Two of our comedy crushes are at Amused Moose in Soho tonight: Paul Sinha and Nat Luurtsema, who are so good and clever it makes us weep a tiny bit. Also on the bill are Alistair Barrie, Darren Walsh and Mark Dolan hosting. Entry £12, reserve tickets on 020 7287 3727 and pay cash on the door, starts 8pm.

RIOT GRRRL: Bloody Ice Cream is a new riot grrrl night for "queers, punx and everyone in between (especially those who are sick of everything being in East London)" at The Grosvenor, Stockwell. Entry £5, £4 with a flyer. Open til 9pm-2am.

PROM: For those who lived through them and those who think they'd like to have been a teen in the 1980s, go to Midnight A Go-Go's 80s High School Prom Night party at the Waiting Room, Stoke Newington High Street. Tickets £5 on the door, just turn up (dress up) from 10pm-4am.

Sunday 24 February

FAMILY FUN: The ViewTube on the Greenway by the Olympic Park has reopened and to celebrate and round off half-term there’s a free family workshop with games, art activities and a mega domino rally. Free, just turn up, from 11am-3pm.

ARCHAEOLOGY: Visit Fulham Palace and handle some real archaeological objects from the museum collection including some Roman pieces. Free, drop in, between 2-3.30pm.

PURIM: There are loads of activities for children aged 3+ at the Pop-up Purim festival at The Winch in Hampstead. Stories, messy play, cake decorating, face painting, fancy dress, games and more. Kids tickets £9, adults go free, from 1-4.30pm.

DOCUMENTARY: Docklands Cinema Club screens shorts about policing national borders at Museum of London, Docklands. Screenings are free but book your place, runs 2-4pm.

LAST CHANCE: To visit Death: A Self Portrait at Wellcome Collection, Stockwell Bus Garage photo exhibition in the foyer at Royal Festival Hall and the British Wildlife Photography Competition exhibition at Horniman Museum. All free entry.

OSCARS: Stay up and dress up for Oscar Night at Roxy Bar and Screen. £10 tickets, includes glass of Prosecco on arrival, popcorn all night - live coverage from 11.30pm until the bitter end.
