Tonight: Laughing For Evelina Children's Hospital

Laugh for Evelina Children's Hospital

Are you:

  • At a loose end tonight?
  • Within reach of Ministry of Sound?
  • Fond of Shazia Mirza?
  • Peckish?

Then you're in luck. Tonight we've discovered an excellent little comedy fund-raiser taking place at Ministry of Sound in Elephant & Castle. Star of stand-up, TV, radio and film Shazia Mirza headlines (BBC3's F*** Off, I'm a Hairy Woman), joined by Tiffany Stevenson (ITV's Show Me The Funny) and Comedy Store's Ian Stone (Mock The Week/Buzzcocks regular). So, a great mix of the legendary, the brand-spanking new and the panel show rent-a-guest.  Tiernan Douieb comperes, with extra musical comedy provided by Brian Damage & Krysstal.

Tickets are a rather reasonable £7, with all proceeds donated to the Evelina Children's Hospital at Guys and St Thomas' for toys and other fun stuff. This will help assuage any guilt you may feel laughing at shockingly un-PC humour (after 9/11, Shazia made her name by starting her act in a hijab and deadpanning "My name is Shazia Mirza. At least, that's what it says on my pilot’s licence".)

Randomly, we hear the ticket price may well include food. Don't forget it's a fundraiser in Elephant - so don't go in demanding canapés like you're at some Shoreditch gallery opening.

Tickets available on the door or from this page on the Ministry website. Doors open 7pm, finishing up by 11pm. Leave us some chips.
