Where to find funny this week

Sunday 7 July

Stand Up for Women is raising money and awareness for women's groups at the Garrick Theatre, with Andi Osho, Lucy Porter, Josie Long, Joe Bor, Joe Wells, Nadia Kamil and John-Luke Roberts, Barbershopera's Lara and Rob, Miss London and Ada Campe (7pm, from £25).

Monday 8 July

A choice of two at the Soho Theatre: either Pappy's doing a one-off of their anarchic panel gameshow Flatshare Slamdown with guests Elis James and Paul F Tompkins (9.30pm, £8.50 / £7) or the first of a run of new material nights from Frank Skinner (9pm, £10).

Tuesday 9 July

There's some excellent shows with tickets still available at the Balham Comedy Festival. Jeremy Hardy is on at 7.30pm (£16+bf); you could get a combination ticket to see him followed by Mick Miller for £30+bf but if we're honest we think you should see Sara Pascoe's work in progress instead (9pm, £10+bf).

We fucked this one up and misread the Invisible Dot New Wave night as Thursday; it's not, it's tonight (cheers, Nathan in the comments). They've put together a collection of fantastic new(ish) acts for your pleasure: discover insane characters from Colin Hoult, sketches with The Pin, Sam Fletcher, Liam Williams separate from Sheeps, Tash Demetriou, Karl Schultz, Twins and Thrice (7.45pm, £8).

Wednesday 10 July

Find out the real horrors of doing stand-up as Viv Groksop hosts The Night I Died, with James Mullinger, Wendy Wason, Sara Barron and David Mills at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (7.30pm, £6).

Thursday 11 July

Chris Martin and Nick Helm preview their new Edinburgh shows in a double bill at Always Be at The Tommyfield (8pm, £5.50 / £6).

Friday 12 July

Andi Osho headlines the Soho Comedy Club, up in the casino of the Empire, Leicester Square, plus Josh Howie and left political observations from Nick Revell (7.30pm, £10 / £15).

Saturday 13 July

Catch Omid Djalili as he previews his Edinburgh show at Leicester Square Theatre (9.30pm, £15).
