GeekyScience: A New Forum For...Geeky Science

Rich Mix.

London ain't short of events catering for the curious of mind, but you can never have enough of them, either. Step forward GeekyScience, a new evening devoted to the great scientific ideas of our age.

The first instalment, at Rich Mix in Shoreditch on 5 September (7-10pm), tackles the perennially fascinating subject of evolution, but from two angles you might not have considered. Kat Arney of Cancer Research UK discusses the evolution of cancer. Then, journalist and presenter Adam Rutherford tackles evolution and synthetic biology, partly through the medium of hip-hop. The whole thing's tied together by host and organiser (and sister of Kat), Helen Arney.

UPDATE: Earlybird tickets are on sale now for £6, raising to £10 on the door. An October event on a different theme will be announced soon.
