London Comedy: Jane Bussmann, Austentatious, Marcel Lucont

Austentatious, at Leicester Square Theatre

Our selection of London’s alternative, clever and offbeat comedy gigs this week.

Austentatious / Rachel Parris

Make it a double bill at the Leicester Square Theatre on 17 November with the brilliant Austentatious gang improvising one of Jane's lost novels (£12.50 / £10, 5pm) followed by Austentatious-er Rachel Parris's solo show, singing songs that will never quite make it into an advertising slot (£7, 8.45pm)

Jane Bussmann

Comedy writer Jane Bussmann (credits include: South Park, Brass Eye, Jam, The Fast Show) is really pissed off about our attitude to Africa. You can read her feelings about Kony2012 in this article she wrote for the Guardian or you can see her show at the Soho Theatre 18-23 November. It's called Bono and Geldof Are C*nts. You can probably guess the tone. £15 / £12.50, 7.30pm

Comedy Knights

Ben Target - anarchic, warped, clever - headlines the Brixton end of this multi-venue club night. Others on the bill are Paul F Taylor, Nathaniel Metcalfe, Dangerous T, Tom Toal and James Shakeshaft. 19 November, £6, 8pm

Cabaret Fantastique

Marcel Lucont hosts this evening at the Comedy Cafe Theatre, with stand up, music and performance from guests Arthur Smith, Felicity Ward, Jonny and the Baptists, Le Foulard and The Lounge Room Confabulators. 21 November, £8 / £10. 7.45pm

Typhoon Haiyan Fundraiser

There are already only single seats and standing tickets available for this benefit at Bloomsbury Theatre on 24 November so if you want to go, book quickly. Stewart Lee, Chris Addison, John Bishop, Al Murray, Shappi Khorsandi and Angela Barnes are among the acts confirmed. £18 / £15 + bf, 7.30pm

Freshly Pressed

Spend your Sunday lunch in the company of comedians like Sara Pascoe, Rachel Parris, Jessica Fostekew, Andrew Murray, Robin Clyfan and others as they go through the day's papers at The Proud Archivist in Haggerston. 24 November, 1 December, £8.50, 12pm
