Museum of London has a tempting schedule of upcoming events to better acquaint yourself with Londoners of days gone by. Unless otherwise stated, events take place at the museum's fascinating Archaeological Archive in Mortimer Wheeler House, Hackney.
Shoreditch's Saucy Side
In a kind of tenuous prelude to Valentine's Day, take a look at some of the more risqué items from the archive, including a naughty pilgrim's badge and some sordid Victorian furniture.

Shakespeare's London
The Bard's capital is explored through unusual items uncovered by archaeologists — among them a gnawed bear bone, and a prop for making the sound of thunder on stage.

A tour of London's musical history, including a bird bone flute, Roman bells and a medieval tuning peg.

Roman Fort Gate Tours
The subterranean car park next to Museum of London's main site holds a little-known secret. Fragments from the west gate of Londinium's Roman fort can be viewed on special open days, with an expert tour. Several dates are coming up.
