Looking for things to do with the kids in half term?

CREATIVE FESTIVAL: Makegood Festival, at the Old Selfridges Hotel, is an event focusing on entrepreneurship in the creative industries, with talks from experts such as Cath Kidston, and Rosie Wolfenden, and 200 start-ups launching simultaneously. From £8, prebook, 30 May- 1 June

INTERIORS: The Spring Clean, at the Londonnewcastle Project Space in Shoreditch sees interior designers, fabric, rug and furniture companies selling off excess stock at reasonable prices, to raise money for Kids Company. There will also be food trucks, a raffle and a champagne bar. 30 May-1 June

RECORD FAIR: Truman Brewery on Brick Lane hosts London Record Fair with international dealers, music memorabilia, record accessories and more. £1-£10, prebook, 30 May-1 June

LOCAL FESTIVAL: The My Raynes Park Festival begins this weekend. This year’s theme is The Pursuit of Happiness, and there will be film screenings, poetry, comedy and more. 30 May-8 June

TRIATHLON: Watch the world's best triathletes compete in Hyde Park at the ITU World Triathlon Series on Saturday and Sunday. Schedule here. Free to watch, just turn up, from 8am-5.30pm

CLOSING TODAY: The Spotlight on Sumatra wildlife exhibition is outside More London, accessible 24 hours a day. It portrays the species of Sumatra and the danger they are in. Free, just turn up, until 31 May

FILM ENDS TODAY: A rich programme of free films in unusual venues: that’s the Herne Hill Free Film Festival. You can just turn up and enjoy the film in most venues. Free, until 31 May

LAST CHANCE ART: Graphic artist Kev Munday presents his first solo show at Artsdepot in North Finchley. With a background in graffiti, Kev’s work features a variety of mediums including aerosol paint, laser etchings and digital illustration. Free, until 31 May

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP: Shutter Workshops is running a fashion and portrait workshop, giving photographers a chance to expand their portfolio by working alongside career consultancy experts and agency models for the day. £350, prebook, 9am-6pm

ART & DESIGN: The Wimbledon Village Affordable Art & Design Fair is a new event, showcasing photographers, scupltors, jewellery makers, potters and more. Free, just turn up, 10am-5pm

HANDMADE: We Are Handmade at Spitalfields gives the public a chance to buy handmade items directly from the makers.

GOOD JUMBLE: Head to Lewisham Arthouse in Brockley for a sale of good-quality second-hand women's clothes from Good Jumble. Unlike other similar sales, customers can try items on, and even have them adjusted on the spot if they don't quite fit perfectly. £3, just turn up, 11am-2pm

GREENWICH WALK: Learn about the maritime history and Royal connections of the Borough of Greenwich on this Footprints of London walk, starting at the Cutty Sark and ending at the food market.  £10/£7.50, prebook, 11am

JAPANESE CRAFT: The Japan Foundation in Russell Square is running free workshops on making Kaburimono, a type of outlandish headgear from Japan, led by Japanese artist Norio Nishihara. Ages 7+. Free, prebook, 11am/3pm

CHILDREN'S FILMS: Birkbeck pop-up university screens a series of vintage educational films for children. Aimed at 3-7 year olds. Free, prebook, from 11am

SHOREDITCH WALK: There's more to Shoreditch than street art - delve into its past and investigate its present on a walk around the area with Pete Berthoud. £10, prebook, 11am-1pm

FARM FUN: There is a Big Lunch and Family Fun Day at Stepney City Farm. Bring a dish to share and take part in family activities such as crafts and a farm tour. Free, just turn up,11am-3pm

HITCHCOCK: This guided walk takes in the areas of the West End associated with Alfred Hitchcock, including the areas where he started his career, and some of the locations used in his films. £8, prebook, 2pm

COCKTAIL MASTERCLASS: Learn the art of making cocktails with freshly picked ingredients at The Rib Room restaurant. The Cocktail Gardener teaches you how to create herbal concoctions and floral drinks for your summer parties — the event repeats for the next two Saturdays. £29, prebook, 3pm

SOHO FOODIES: With its wealth of restaurants, it's no surprise that Soho has a  rich culinary history. Learn all about it, and the hidden cocktail bars of the area, on this guided walk. £10/£7.50, prebook, 4pm

BOOK LAUNCH: Housmans book shop hosts the launch of The Football Crónicas, a collection of short stories from Latin America in the lead-up to the World Cup. Proceeds from the book go to charity. Free, just turn up, 6.30pm

BOOK LAUNCH: Norman Finkelstein holds the UK launch of his new book, Old Wine, Broken Bottle: Ari Shavit's Promised Land, at Conway Hall. The book is a take-down book of Ari Shavit’s My Promised Land. £3, just turn up, 7pm

FOLK MUSIC: Folk artist Blair Dunlop debuts his  second album, House of Jacks, at Cecil Sharp House. £14, prebook, 7pm

FUNDRAISING CONCERT: Soul Singer Tanya Cristina performs songs from her debut album Small Woman, Big Voice, AT Kings Place, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. From £13.50, prebook, 7.30pm

CABARET CLUB NIGHT: The Joys of Mrs Peel has a special club night at Eight Club in Dysart Stree, described as "A glamorous cabaret discotheque with a wanton 1960’s hue." There will be live music and performances from go‐go girl dance dance troupe The Meyer Dancers. £15/£20, prebook, 8pm-2am

ARCHITECTURE: London Festival of Architecture starts today and runs all month. Look out for talks, walks, installations and more.

HARLEY DAVIDSON: Warr's Harley Davidson dealership on Kings Road is celebrating its 90th birthday with a day of free events. Vintage and custom bikes will be on display, and there will be live Rock 'n' Roll and Blues bands, food stalls, and more. Free, just turn up, all day

PHILOSOPHY: Sunday Assembly at Conway Hall discusses What We Haven't Learnt From The Greeks, led by Jules Evans from Queen Mary, University of London. Free, just turn up, 11am

FILM FESTIVAL: Walthamstow International Film Festival takes place today, with several films of four minutes or less being screened throughout the day, suitable for all ages. Takes place at Vestry House Museum. Free, just turn up, from 12pm

KIDS THEATRE: Rock Pool at arts depot is perfect for kids. A big storm leaves two very different creatures stranded in a rock pool far from the sea. As their pool starts to drain away, Prawn and Crab don’t have long to find a way of getting on and getting home. £7, midday and 3pm

ROLLERSKATING: The Sunday Stroll is a relaxed slow paced skate open to all roller skaters and rollerbladers able to stop, turn and control their speed on hills. Meet at Serpentine Road in Hyde Park. Free, just turn up, 2pm

OPEN AIR THEATRE: The Festival Players bring their family friendly performance of Macbeth to Oakhill Park in East Barnet. Bring a rug or blanket to sit on. £12/£10/£6, prebook, 3pm

DRAWING: As part of Chelsea Fringe, Inner Temple Garden hosts the Long Draw, a creative day of drawing in the garden, materials supplied. There will also be garden tours, an exhibition in the potting shed and an installation. Free, bring a picnic, 1-4pm

LIVE MUSIC: Mau Mau Live Music bar in Portobello Road has a live jazz music event, with singer songwriter Rosalie Genay. £5, prebook, 5pm

BLUES DANCING: Take a taster class in blues dancing at The Book Club in Shoreditch, and listen to music from Blues DJs. £8, just turn up, 7pm

TECHNOPHOBIA: Ghoul's Night Out is an evening of comedy, film, live music and talks around the subject of 1980's technophobia, hosted by comedian Andrew O'Neill. Takes place at The Lexington. £7, prebook, 7pm

CLASSICAL CONCERT: University of London Symphony Orchestra holds its summer concert at St Stephens Church in Gloucester Road, beginning with Verdi's Overture to La Forza del Destino. £10/£8/£5, prebook, 7.30pm
