Our selection of London’s alternative, clever and offbeat comedy gigs this week.

Twins

Jack Barry and Annie McGrath perform an hour of whimsical "attempted sketch" comedy at Invisible Dot in King's Cross on 23 June for the princely sum of £2. 8.45pm

The Yard Laughs

Six new shows preview at The Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick between 24-26 June in double bills: £7 each night, £11 for two nights, 8pm starts. See Nish Kumar and Alex Edelman on 24 June, Simon Munnery and musical comedy from Jonny & The Baptists on 25 June, and John Robins and Sara Pascoe on 26 June.

City of London Festival

Inside a massive bowler hat in Paternoster Square, comedians will be previewing their Edinburgh shows for the next couple of weeks. Catch Alex Horne, Jenny Eclair, Mark Watson, Bridget Christie, Richard Herring and others. £15, 9.30pm

Susan Calman and Jessica Fostekew

This pair are previewing their Edinburgh shows Lady Like (Susan Calman) and Jessanory (Jessica Fostekew) in a fantastic double bill at the new Museum of Comedy in Bloomsbury on 25 June. Our faces still hurt from the last time we saw Susan Calman, we can't recommend her enough. £10, 7pm

We Love Comedy

Adam Riches brings his slightly unhinged characters to We Love Comedy in Balham, with John-Luke Roberts, Mark Silcox, Stuart Laws and Sean Brightman also on the bill. 26 June, pay what you want, 8pm

Bill Bellamy

US comedian Bill Bellamy plays twice at the Hackney Empire on 28 June, supported by Slim, Richard Blackwood and Kane Brown. And if you fancy carrying on, Bill hosts an after-show party at Revolution (£15; cheaper or free if you have show tickets). £25-£35 + bf, 6pm or 9.30pm
