London Comedy: Will Adamsdale, Cariad And Louise, Doc Brown

Our selection of London’s alternative, clever and offbeat comedy gigs this week.

Doc Brown

At the Bowler Hat in Paternoster Square, the City of London Festival sees one of Doc Brown's irregular stand up performances on 12 July. We're a bit sad he doesn't break out the mic as often these days, but it's a treat when he does. £15, 9.30pm

Josie Long

The ultimate optimist hosts a night at Invisible Dot in King's Cross on 13 July, with guests James Acaster, Nadia Kamil, Sofie Hagen and the surreal Ben Target. £10, 7pm

Laugh Til It Hurts

Help raise money for Barnados at the Comedy Store near Piccadilly Circus on 14 July, with sets from Robin Ince, Hal Cruttenden, Carl Donnelly, Joe Wilkinson, Jason Patterson, Pierre Novellie and sketch tearaways Cardinal Burns, with Imran Yusuf MCing. £13 / £8, 8pm

Cariad & Louise

That's Lloyd (Cariad) and Ford (Louise) bringing their character comedy to N1's Drink, Shop & Do on 15 July, with Rachel Parris (£3, 7pm) and to Leicester Square Theatre on 18 July (£7 / £6, 8.30pm). Will feature HSBC (Helena Susan Bonham Carter) and Tim Burton.

Will Adamsdale

2004's Perrier winner for his life coach character Chris John Jackson (see below) is working up a new Edinburgh show at Invisible Dot for three nights 15-17 July. He's called it Borders, but who knows what it'll be about by now? £4, 9pm

Bite Me!

That's not an actual request; we are not heading to Barcelona to see Luis Suarez. It's a comedy gig at Camden's Camden Head on 18 July, with Robin Ince, Sarah Campbell, Under Dogs, Max Dickens, Lou Sanders, Michael Strainey, Daryl Perry and Lyndon Grady. £3, 8pm
