Street Food And Crazy Golf Combo To Launch

Swingers: street food and crazy golf in Shoreditch

We’ve got secret bars, sky-high restaurants and strange eateries galore. But London’s diverse food and drink scene just keeps throwing up something new.

Following in the footsteps of bowling alleys with decent grub (Brooklyn Bowl) and bars that come complete with ping pong tables (Bounce), crazy golf is the next competitive activity to get the foodie treatment.

Swingers will open in a Shoreditch warehouse this autumn and run for three months at least. And don’t worry, despite the name we can assure you that there’ll be no bowls of keys.

Styled as a 1920s golf club, the venue will poke fun at the serious world of golf while offering a high standard of crazy golf and some equally top notch food. Pizza Pilgrims (which we recently recommended as one of our top pizza restaurants) will be serving on-site, while a second street food pitch will be varyingly occupied by Patty & Bun, Mark Hix’s Fishdog, When Mac Met Cheese and Butchies. Cocktails and craft beers will also be available, and there will be live DJs each night.

This is the first time that crazy golf has been combined with a night out and is the brainwave of Winterwell festival founder Josh Ford, who tells us: “I love playing crazy golf and am passionate about being competitive with friends”. He also insists that while it’s all about fun, the high-quality nature of the course means that those with golf skills will be able to really go for it.

Swingers will launch on 25 September and run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night until Christmas, from 6pm until midnight. Admission in the form of a ‘ground pass’ will cost £5, while a game of crazy golf will cost a further £8.

If you're crazy for the idea, stay tuned for developments on the Swingers website.
