London Talent Continues To Impress At Westfield Centres

Shopping giant Westfield has joined the battle of the London postcode this summer, with Westfield Stratford City (E20) and Westfield London (W12) already half-way through their six-week We Are LDN Summer campaign.

It’s all just play fighting and friendly fire though, as the campaign is really about celebrating London’s finest. Activities are well underway, with music and dance weeks already having been and gone.

But there’s still plenty to get involved with. With a different theme each week, both centres are treating visitors to a variety of free performances, workshops, demonstrations and activities, that show off the talent in our capital. Here’s a look at what’s coming up from next week:

Food Week (11-17 August)

WEST
Daily: Cooking Demos, The Atrium - Enjoy free, daily masterclasses with cookery class maestros, L’atelier des Chefs. From chocolate and sushi, to pasta and street food treats, there is plenty on offer. See www.westfield.com/uk for more details.

16-17 August: FoodFestWest, The Southern Terrace - Top off a week of gastronomy at Westfield London with a weekend foodie festival. Located in the al-fresco surroundings of The Southern Terrace, retailers and guest vendors will be sharing their tasty treats with hungry shoppers.

EAST
Daily: Cooking Demos, First Floor near GAP - L’atelier des Chefs will also be popping in to Westfield Stratford City each day this week for fun culinary masterclasses, completely free of charge.

14 August, 11am-4pm: Kids Cooking Day, The Street - Little Jamies Olivers can get stuck in with classic finger sandwiches and pies ready for the making on Kids Cooking Day.

Kids Week (18-24 August)

WEST
Daily, 11am-4pm: Kids Arts & Crafts, The Atrium - Don’t miss daily themed kids workshops and activities including games, bag and ceramic decorating, jewellery making, competitions and face painting.

Daily, midday-5pm: My London Girl Lessons, in-store - During Kids Week, retailer My London Girl will be holding free in-store arts and crafts such as dolly hair braiding, friendship bracelet making and decorating trinket boxes.

19 August at 11am, midday, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm: Dinosaur Train, The Atrium - Popular Nickelodeon programme, Dinosaur Train, is riding in to Westfield London. In a UK first, Buddy the Tyrannosaurus Rex and his adopted Pteranodon family will be entertaining their fans. Free wristbands can be collected from 9am on the day.

EAST
Daily, 11am-5pm: Kids Arts & Crafts, Chestnut Plaza - East London themed kids workshops and activities organised by Iced Gems Events, including games, bag and ceramic plate decorating, jewellery making, competitions and face painting.

Daily, 11am-6pm: Space Hopper Takeover, Chestnut Plaza - Check out the Hawkins Bazaar Space Hoppers Race zone at Chestnut Plaza for some bouncy, springy fun. Race your friends (or your parents, big kids are welcome too).
