Victorian Vaults Host Underground Film Club

After a healthy summer calendar of outdoor cinemas, we're quite relieved that Underground Film Club is giving us the chance to come inside, warm our cockles and settle down to a film or two in an subterranean setting.

The Vaults at Waterloo is the Victorian cavern-style venue for Underground Film Club's seven-week winter residence, which sees comfy theatre-style seats brought in for cinemagoers to enjoy.

The usual suspects are on the line-up (Pulp Fiction, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Top Gun and Dirty Dancing... though no Grease), but there's also a refreshing change with some diversions from all of these classics that get trotted out repeatedly at pop-up cinemas.

We're pretty excited to see David Bowie is, a documentary about the Bowie exhibition at the V&A. The National Theatre gets a look in too, with a NT Live broadcast of Danny Boyle's Frankenstein. Is there nothing that man can't do? Then of course, there's the rather aptly named Trainspotting — The Vaults are beneath the hustle and bustle of Waterloo Station, after all. See the full line-up.

Underground Film Club takes place an impressive five nights a week 6 November-20 December. Tickets are £13 and need to be prebooked.

**UPDATE: Undergronud Film Club is running additional screenings at The Vaults on 6-17 January. Programme and tickets available here. Meanwhile, its sister event, Rooftop Film Club takes over Kensington Roof Gardens 5-8 January. Programme and tickets available here.***
