Want to see more of London this year? Keen to visit somewhere you've never been, or maybe spend less time in front of the TV and see more of the great outdoors? Head to Kew Gardens for an invigorating day out — best of all, tickets are reduced to just £9.50 if you visit before 31 January.

Enjoy the tranquility of the famous Gardens in winter — as you can see from the pictures above, the colder months are a beautiful time to visit. Wrap up warm and take a wintry stroll across the grounds, by the pagoda and around the lake. If the weather's not up to much, you can take shelter and explore the iconic glass houses. The Palm House offers a tropical climate, perfect for thawing out, and you can catch a glimpse of early bulbs in the Davies Alpine House, or exotic plants and wildlife in the Princess of Wales Conservatory.

Even if your new year's resolution is to tighten the purse strings, a day out clocking in at under a tenner sounds pretty good to us.

£9.50 entry to Kew Gardens is available until 31 January 2015. Even better, children under 16 go free. Book your tickets here. From 1 February, prices return to £15 for adults and £14 for concessions.
