Free Activity Sessions For Families This Summer

Looking for ways to perk up the school holidays? Free activity sessions are taking place in some of London's parks and green spaces over the summer with the aim of getting more families out and about.

Parklives takes place in parks around Newham, offering kids and parents a chance to participate in firm favourite like rounders and roller skating — or more unusual activities such as parkour, Bollywood dancing and family hula-hooping.

The free sessions take place seven days a week, between 12pm and 4pm throughout the summer holidays. Details of each week's activities and location will be released on the Parklives website in due course.

Meanwhile, free launch events take place in each of Newham's five main parks next week. Get yourself along to these venues on these dates between 12pm and 4pm to join in the fun:

  • Monday 27 July - Stratford Park, West Ham Lane, Stratford, E15 4PT
  • Tuesday 28 July - Plashet Park, Plashet Grove, E6 1BT
  • Wednesday 29 July - Central Park, High Street South, East Ham, E6 6ET
  • Thursday 30 July - Keir Hardie Recreation Ground, Tarling Road, E16 1LQ
  • Friday 31 July - New Beckton Park, Savage Gardens, Beckton, E6 5NB
