Test Your Pedal Power At London's Pop-Up Velodrome

Try your hand at track cycling at Broadgate's Exchange Square next week.

On Wednesday, the area will once again be transformed into what organisers describe as a 'pounding theatre of cycle sport' with a pop-up StreetVelodrome.

For the second year running, Broadgate is hosting the televised ASDA StreetVelodrome Series Super Final. But before the professionals pedal off, you can have a taste of the sport for yourself.

You don't need to book: simply turn up between 10am and 1pm or 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday. (To avoid disappointment, you might want to register your interest at the booking desk around 9am.) Then, if you think you're speedy enough to compete in the televised final, you can complete a two-lap time trial between 10am and 1pm on Thursday. It's free to enter and all equipment is provided.

The final is between the fastest members of the public from the regional heats, two Broadgate Wildcards, and Pro-riders including Olympic track gold medallist Craig Maclean MBE, elite rider and TV presenter Anna Glowinski and BMX Champion Matti Hemmings.

Spectators can pop down and watch the action for free, at any point.

The StreetVelodrome is at Broadgate's Exchange Square from 12-13 August. See the full schedule at broadgate.co.uk/streetvelodrome.
