Right across from Dalston Junction station is this hidden glory. It's on the site of the old railway line which used to link the station to the North London Line. Train buffs may disagree, but we think it's much better now.
Away from the wooden pavilion the area feels wild, with trees and bushes planted for attracting birds and insects. Edibles include herbs, artichokes and raspberries, just beginning to ripen. If you want to green up those fingers you can join in the gardening every Saturday from 2pm; if you prefer a more relaxing time, have a coffee or craft beer by the cafe. Pizzas from the woodburner oven are also available on weekends from 2pm, and Tuesdays from 7pm when there's also live acoustic music.
Dalston Eastern Curve Garden is at 13 Dalston Lane. Entry is free, though there may be a charge for live events. Opening times vary, see website for details.
