A one-off performance of nonsense inspired by Only Fools and Horses moves into the Museum of Comedy later this month.
Though fans of the sitcom should be warned: this tribute to the Trotters is a production by the Weirdos Collective, the comedy group with a well of ideas more insane than Del Boy's infamous Peckham Spring.
The collective are well known for an Only Foolsesque attitude of "he who dares..." and offer comedians a chance to take risks on stage and hone their own unique style. Double Edinburgh award winner John Kearns fashioned much of his absurdist schtick with the group.
In this play, Weirdo-in-chief Adam Larter plays loveable rogue Del Boy, with cosmic Joz Norris as lead plonker Rodney. Absurdist clown Marny Godden completes the main three wheels as great Uncle Albert.
Despite a sneak preview of the script, in which Rodney is led to hell, Londonist can offer no guarantees of what to expect. As Adam Larter says, "Imagine David Lynch was directing an episode of Only Fools... It feels like the characters you know and love but that doesn't mean it's anything like the sitcom. It'll be messy with fluffed lines and home-made props — but it'll be a lot of fun."
