Londoners once again have the chance to build to their heart’s content as the Brick Lego extravaganza opens next week.
Last year, 48,000 people (kids and adults) flooded into the ExCeL, which is basically transformed into one massive box of Lego.
Those who are bonkers about bricks can look forward to pits with enough pieces to build the wildest creations their imagination can muster, as well as mosaics, entire Lego cities and films recreated in Lego. For the ambitious, there’s the chance to contribute to a Guinness World Record attempt.
There’s also a Brick Lane (with not a hipster in sight), which gives you the chance to design your very own figurine and craft race cars, then race them over ramps on a course.
Lego was invented in 1936 by a Danish carpentry firm and bricks were originally made out of wood, before they switched to plastic in the 1960s.
Brick 2015 takes place at the ExCel, Royal Victoria Dock, E16 1XL, from 11-13 December. Tickets from £20 + booking fee. We recommend wearing shoes to the event as it really hurts when you accidentally tread on Lego.
