A Map Of London That Doubles As A Coffee Table

Have afternoon tea in (or on) Mayfair every day, with one of these London map side tables. The cartographic furniture is the work of Hasan Agar, whose love of London inspired these four-legged wonders.

The tables show an area of the capital centred on Westminster. The surface is covered in slits — which might not be so helpful if you knock your wine over, but will cast a rather splendid shadow on your floor. Like this:

The tables are available in black, white or with a coloured surface. Monochrome tables cost £195 while the coloured versions are £245 — yeah, it's more than an Ikea table, but you're paying for craftsmanship on an item that isn't mass produced.

The designer is unlikely to branch out into additional areas of London. However, maps of other cities such as Paris and Istanbul are, um, on the table.

See Hasan's website for more details on materials, sizes and how to order.
