Discover The Scent And Spirit Of The City At London Transport Museum

Londonist is proud media partner to London Transport Museum's Transported by Design season.

Discover glamorous bygone eras at the London Transport Museum this February, through vintage perfume and drinks at adult-only talk and tasting event, Scent and Spirit of London.

Join Odette Toilette, purveyor of olfactory adventures, and special guest Alice Lascelles, journalist, author and hard liquor expert, and be transported on a sensual journey though the last century of London by night.

From the vibrant optimism of the Belle Epoque, through the Jazz Age, austerity London and up to the 1970s, you can explore four past eras of our city through their de rigeur scents and drinks, listening to a lively dialogue provided by Odette Toilette and Alice Lascelles.

From a decadent splash of champagne, to a sip of the classic Corpse Reviver cocktail, this will be an entirely new way of immersing yourself in the past.

After the talks, you'll have the chance to buy signed copies of Lizzie Ostrom's new book Perfume: A Century of Scents and Alice Lascelles’s stylish ode to the drinks cabinet Ten Cocktails.

Ticket holders to the Scent and Spirit of London event can also get free entry to the Illuminate Friday Late running in the London Transport Museum galleries on the same evening.

Visit the museum website to book your tickets today. Tickets cost £20 for adults and £17 for concessions. There are two sessions to choose from: 7pm-8pm and 8.30pm-9.30pm.
