RAF EXHIBITION: Today's the 98th anniversary of the foundation of the RAF and to celebrate, three vintage aircraft: a Snipe, Spitfire and a Typhoon will be stationed on Horse Guards Parade. After seeing these aviation legends up close, catch a spectacular anniversary Typhoon jet flypast at 3pm and maybe even receive a gift for wearing something red...Free, just turn up, all day (flypast at 3pm)

HANDS ON SCIENCE: Get stuck into experiments at the Science Museum's Live Science experience, and assist with real research for University College London. There are loads more activities taking place at the museum today, including making rocket bunnies and joining a bubble show. Free, just turn up, 10am-6pm

LAMBETH PALACE: The oldest continuously-cultivated garden in London, rarely opened Lambeth Palace welcomes the public today. Get started on spring with hellebores, flowering cherries and California lilacs. £5 (kids go free), just turn up, 12pm-3pm
