BFI WORKSHOP: It's lights, camera and, indeed, action for the kids at BFI's It's A Novelty Mash Up. Children between 8-12 years are invited to create scripts based on mash-ups of their favourite book characters, which will then be filmed and posted on the BFI YouTube channel. £27.50 (including The Secret Garden screening at 2.30pm), prebook, 10am-2.30pm

KIDS AT THE CARTOON MUSEUM: Learn to draw manga animals with help from from artist Takayo Akiyama, and put them together into your own comic strip. £10, prebook, 11am-1pm

Good cause of the day

The Lively Up Shakespeare Tour sees students from Campion College in Jamaica, along with those from Kingsford Community School and Caterham School, reinterpret three of the Bard's most famous works. It's in aid of Generating Genius — a charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged young people. The Chamber, City Hall. Entry free, donations warmly accepted, 31 March, 7.30pm
