Art Night London: See Art In Off-Limits Locations For Free
The Upper Gallery at Two Temple Place will host an art installation

This summer, access limited-entry locations and enjoy free art across the capital as Art Night takes over London.

If you liked Lumiere London, don't miss this after-hours event that will bring live art performances and large-scale installations to public areas and private buildings across the city. The one-day festival features various trails, each dedicated to a different subject including art, architecture, dance, design and music.

You'll be able to enter a luxury flat at 190 Strand where a series of art performances will be staged, admire the brutalist building 180 Strand being transformed by colourful, site-specific paintings and try a sensory installation staged at the disused Jubilee line platform in Charing Cross.

Somerset House will become a dance heaven as hundreds of performers will stage a group show, Covent Garden Piazza's east side will be transformed by dance video projections and Southwark Cathedral will host a dance and music show.

This is set to be a must-visit event. As curator Kathy Noble says:

As the sun goes down, Londoners and visitors alike will be able to experience the city in a new way. They will see iconic landmarks in a new light, and have the chance to explore unexpected and often hidden locations.

Expect to find art and installations around Southwark, too

This first edition is curated by the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and aims to connect international contemporary artist with the London audience. And always looking ahead, the festival has already announced its 2017 edition to be focused on east London, with its main hub at Whitechapel Gallery.

Free tickets will be released on 9 May at noon: check the ICA website to book your space and to get fully information on each event. We're sure they will go very quick.
