London Beer Festival Roundup: April 2016

Regular ale-heads will spot some familiar names in April's line-up of beer festivals in London — most of these events are perennial favourites. As always, let us know in the comments if we’ve missed anything notable.

2 April: London Brewers’ Market

London Brewers’ Market returns to Old Spitalfields Market for its spring instalment this Saturday from 11am-7pm. No fewer than 26 brewers from around the capital will be selling their beer for consumption on and off the premises, and as before, the festivities will be accompanied by music from the Independent Label Market.

6-9 April: Wandsworth Common Spring Beer Festival

Once again the magnificent Grade II listed Royal Victoria Patriotic Building (AKA 'Le Gothique') hosts the Wandsworth Common Spring Beer Festival from Wednesday until Saturday next week.

The format will be familiar to attendees of previous Wandsworth Common beer festivals — from the Thursday to the Saturday a fee of £4 on the door (for those who have pre-registered online, or CAMRA members) will give you access to 100 real ales, 25 ciders, and a "wall of craft beer" from 1pm until 11pm. Alternatively a pre-booked £25 ticket provides entry to the preview night from 6pm on the Wednesday, with as much cask ale as you can drink (responsibly, of course) included in the ticket price.

15-16 April: Hook Beer Festival

Another regular April fixture, Hook Beer Festival returns to its Surbiton scout hut for three four-hour sessions on 15 and 16 April. The provisional beer list features more than 50 ales from an interesting range of UK brewers, and more than a dozen ciders. Tickets for each session cost £5 online, and include a tasting glass and programme. See the festival’s website for full details.

22-24 April: The Sultan Spring Beer Festival

Information on the Sultan Spring Beer Festival is scarce, but we quite like Hop Back Brewery's only pub in London, so we reckon it's worth a look if you happen to be in the Colliers Wood area.
