Anyone who was wowed by the Tower of London poppy installation in 2014 is in for a treat — 300,000 commemorative poppies will be unveiled at this year's Chelsea Flower Show.
The crocheted poppies were created as part of the 5,000 Poppies Project, which began in Australia to mark Anzac Day. When 250,000 of them had been created, the poppies were displayed in Melbourne’s landmark Federation Square and on Princes Bridge.
Landscape designer Phillip Johnson is responsible for bringing the poppies to Chelsea, covering a 2,000 sqm area of the gardens of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016 takes place 24-28 May. Full details on website.
