Puppeteers from all over the country will gather in Covent Garden next month for the annual May Fayre and Puppet Festival.
This Puppet Festival marks the anniversary of the day Samuel Pepys first saw Mr Punch in England in May 1662.
The festival begins with a grand procession around Covent Garden from 11am, beginning in the garden of St Paul's Church (also known as the actors' church) in Bedford Street.
Mr Punch takes to the pulpit at 12pm for a special church service, followed by Punch and Judy puppet shows and workshops in the church garden from 12.30pm-5.30pm.
The Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival 2016 takes place on Sunday 8 May, 10.30am-5.30pm. Admission is free, no need to book.
