Beer pizza has arrived in London. Well, sort of.

Sambrook's Brewery in Battersea has joined forces with Flour to the People, to create a hop shoot pizza.

What do hop shoots taste like? Anything from samphire to a hedgerow, apparently. Yet despite being known as 'poor man's asparagus', they don't come cheap. Because of the very limited season, and the fact they need to be hand picked, hop shoots can fetch up to £720 for a kilo in continental Europe.

You can see what the fuss is about at a one-off taproom event at Sambrook's on 2 June, and wash down your pizza with their new brew, Buffalo Badger Brown Ale.

Get your pizza at Sambrook's Brewery, Yelverton Road, Unit 1 & 2, SW11 3QG, on 2 June at 5pm. Tickets cost £25 and include  a welcome pint, hop shoot pizza, a tasting paddle and a brewery tour.
