Beach Rugby Is Coming To Central London

Despite being the greatest city on earth, come this time of year, it often feels London is lacking a golden beach. Not so the case this summer, because Finsbury Square is getting covered in sand and — you'll like this bit — City workers are going to be knocking each other to the ground on it.

The fourth London Beach Rugby — taking place 29-30 July — involves 240 tons of sand, and a bunch of corporate 5-a-side teams including the likes of EY, Clifford Chance, Freshfields Law, Knight Frank and BNP Paribas and Sharps Brewery. If you want to sign up a squad of 10, you can register here.

Spectators, meanwhile, can tuck into jerk galore from Sugar Dumplin, and lashings of rum — before a full on beach party kicks off after the rugger ends.

London Beach Rugby takes place 29-30 July at Finsbury Square, EC2A 1AD. It's free to watch. Visit the website closer to the event for exact times.
