Visit Fat Sam's Speakeasy For Bugsy Malone's 40th Birthday

Now we feel old. The film Bugsy Malone is 40 this year, and BAFTA's Piccadilly HQ is being transformed into Fat Sam's for a weekend of celebrations in August.

The kids-as-gangsters movie — complete with splurge guns, pedal cars and songs eerily sung by adults — is a bank holiday TV staple, for kids and grown-ups alike. So you can imagine our excitement at the idea of a family-friendly 'splurge gun experience' while sipping mocktails in Fat Sam's speakeasy (£8/£6).

A making-of exhibition is free, which you can book to enter without enjoying any of the other delights on offer.

There are also 12 screenings of the film on BAFTA's big screen, priced at a very reasonable £5 per adult and £3 for under-16s. Because everybody loves that man, Bugsy Malone...

Bugsy's 40th Birthday Bash is at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, W1J 9LN on 5-7 August.
