The Best Beer Festivals In London This June

June brings a modest handful of beer festivals to London (it looks like July will be much busier), but there are still enough beer-drinking opportunities to keep ale aficionados well-lubricated. There's also a festival where you can listen to jazz while getting naked. As always, let us know in the comments if we’ve missed anything notable.

Dalston's Duke of Wellington is having a beery blow-out this month

3-5 June: The Duke Of Wellington Spring Beer Festival

One of our favourite Dalston pubs, the Duke of Wellington, kicks off the month with its Spring Beer Festival. Running from Friday to Sunday, the focus seems to be special 'one-off' cask ales from a variety of London brewers (including Redemption, Hammerton, Trumans, and various others).

17-18 June: Hampton Beer Festival

Last year's inaugural Hampton Beer Festival seemed to go down rather well, so it's back for a second year. The venue, a Scout hut that's a short walk from Hampton Station, remains the same, as do the ticket prices: £5 in advance for a four-hour session. Once again, a vague "multitude of great beers and ciders" is promised. We like the sound of that.

This is happening

23-25 June: The Hope ‘Ale Inn’ Festival

The Hope in Carshalton is set to flex its beery muscles once again with its oddly-titled 'Ale Inn' Beer Festival. At the time of writing, the pub’s website is rather short on detail of what the festival will entail, but they do usually provide more details as the date approaches, so it's worth checking back for more info. The Hope's ale-loving credentials are rather well established, so it's quite likely that the festival will feature some excellent beers.

23-26 June: The Naturist Foundation Jazz and Real Ale Festival

If you prefer to enjoy your beer unencumbered by clothing, and accompanied by live jazz music, this festival in the grounds of the Naturist Foundation (near Orpington) could be right up your alley. Around 20 real ales and ciders "at very reasonable prices" are promised, and visitors will have the use of the Foundation's facilities, including a swimming pool, sauna, petanque courts, and a 2km woodland walk. Day tickets cost £16 or £22 (more if you want to stay in the campsite).
